Medicare Advantage

A Medicare Advantage Plan combines Parts A, B, and usually D and is offered by a private company that contracts with Medicare to provide your benefits. Also called Part C, Medicare Advantage Plans include Health Maintenance Organizations, Preferred Provider Organizations, Private Fee-for-Service Plans, Special Needs Plans, and Medicare Medical Savings Account Plans. In a Medicare Advantage Plan, Medicare services are covered through the plan and aren't paid for under Original Medicare. They may contain additional benefits like routine dental and/or vision care as well. You must live in the service area of the plan, and often a referral is needed to see a specialist.
